The Franchise

WILKINS CHIMNEY SWEEP is classed as a ‘man-in-a-van’ franchise, although women are very welcome! A new business with a long history we were established in 1895 as a chimney sweeping business and franchised in 2010.

By the end of 2011 we had four trading franchisees and the 2012 target is five further n territories across the country.

Included in their initial purchase fee our franchisees receive a three week training course at our head quarters in Newbury, consisting of both business and practical chimney sweeping training. Their fee also includes a full marketing launch, operations manual (on loan), professional accreditation, unique back office systems, and of course, full equipment.

Whilst being a ‘grubby’ business, it’s also rewarding and profitable, offering repeat business, virtually no debt and is a ‘need’, not a want service, since acleanchimney is asafechimney.

No experience of chimney sweeping is preferred!

The Franchisors

Peter and Louise Harris are a husband and wife team who run the WILKINS CHIMNEY SWEEP franchise together.

Peter owns and runs the Newbury operation, employing a full time sweep so he can continue to work as Managing Director, to develop the franchise and provide all the practical chimney sweeping training to new franchisees.

Louise is the Franchise Director and looks after the rest of the franchise including delivering the business training and support package. Having previously been a franchisee herself, she is well equipped to offer support and advice to her franchisees, on the challenges they face, when launching and growing their new businesses.

Together they are dedicated to delivering an attractive franchise package and a team of professional chimney sweeps offering a fairly priced, great quality service, to the general public across the UK.
