Members of Birketts’ Franchising Team spoke at an annual legal update arranged by the British Franchise Association (bfa) on Thursday 23 February.
Vicki Mitman and Rob Tiffen were invited by the BFA to speak on the importance of keeping franchise agreements and franchise operations manuals up to date, and arbitration, respectively, to an audience of franchisor bfa members from across the country.
This annual legal seminar is a key event in the franchising calendar as it provides an opportunity for franchisors to stay up to date with legal developments and for specialist franchise lawyers to exchange know-how and best practice.
Vicki Mitman, an Associate in the Franchising Team at Birketts and chair of the BFA Affiliate Forum said: “It was a real honour to be asked by the BFA to speak at the event. The audience were a cross-section of bfa members and given the calibre of speakers at the event, the invitation recognises Birketts’ position within the franchise sector as being one of the leading franchise law firms.”
Rob Tiffen, Head of Birketts’ Franchise Disputes Team and one of the few specialist franchise disputes lawyers in the UK said: “It was great to have a chance to catch-up with the other specialists in this sector and to share our experience with bfa members.
