In many professions, there’s an “every man (or woman) for themselves” attitude to success. However, one thing we can say for certain about the EWiF community: we do not share this view!

If you’ve wondered what it’s like to be a part of the EWiF network, we can tell you it’s one of support and knowing we’re stronger together. Even though there are franchises operating in the same sectors, whether the children’s sector, home care, pet care, languages, or even legal; the overwhelming feeling amongst our members is of encouragement and friendship.

Thinking about some of those who inspire us:

Our Inspirational Woman 2023 award winner was Angela Stirling, founder of Lingotot. She’s a particular champion for practicing positivity for the whole franchise industry – and not just for the women in it. She regularly meets with MPs, and even once met with the Prime Minister, to advocate for the franchise industry as a viable route into business ownership – such is her passion for the benefits of franchising. Angela is a testament to the values of EWiF: Educate, inspire, and empower.

Another incredible woman who inspires us, is Suzie McCafferty, founder and owner of Platinum Wave. She really stands out as someone who always goes above and beyond for women in business, having travelled the path for herself. Whenever we have someone looking for advice, mentoring, or support Suzie is always willing to help others. She’s known, not just in the UK, but worldwide as Platinum Wave is one of the most acclaimed and dynamic franchise consultancy firms, and Suzie shares from what she’d experienced as a franchisee, a franchisor, and a woman in business.

Another person we think embodies the EWiF community spirit is Gemma Hussey from Tezlom. Her amazing tribute for Galentine’s Day, to fellow Tezlom colleague Kay Lou Haskins was really touching. Here’s part of what she had to say:Not only is Kay Lou an incredible individual whose unwavering support, encouragement, and positivity have made a profound impact on those around them, she embodies the true essence of a friend; “my soul sista”. She’s always there to uplift others mentally, physically, and spiritually. Whether offering a listening ear during tough times, motivating with words of encouragement, or providing a comforting presence, Kay’s care and friendship goes above and beyond to make a difference in people’s lives.”

Throughout the EWiF community, we have so many supportive women who are generous with their time and expertise, to build up each other. From supporting new or potential franchisees, to encouraging and inspiring others within either their sector or the franchising industry. We love it when we get together! You’ll often find EWiF members are always happy to see one another at one of our regional meetings, our EWiF Awards event, or at any of the franchise industry events throughout the year. There’s something about being in a room with others who share your passion for what we do!

Which is why we’re making lots of noise on our channels for both Galentine’s Day, and International Women’s Day – because what our Ambassadors have achieved, is nothing short of remarkable!

Join the celebration of women in franchising!

This International Women’s Day we’ll be sharing photos of as many of us striking the official IWD #inspireinclusion pose: holding heart hands in front of your body.

So, get involved! Send your photo to: info@ewif.org as well as a line about how you/your organisation ensure the needs, interests and aspirations of women and girls are valued and included.
