Franchise company Puddle Ducks, which specialises in providing swimming lessons for babies and children, is delighted to welcome Ruth Nelson who joins the team as strategic brand & marketing manager.

Ruth decided at an early age that marketing was for her and set her sights on working for an advertising agency. Her first role following university was a placement at Turtle Wax which was a great experience, but agency life still beckoned. She took a position at established Manchester agency Access, starting a successful 14-year career working with big name clients across a number of sectors including charity, tourism, retail and government.

Ruth joins the Cheshire based franchise company with a remit to grow the brand nationally and to continue to develop and enhance their offering, meeting the company’s vision to have a little Puddle Duck in every family. Her experience across all the marketing channels and her strategic brand experience will see her utilise a number of new and innovative strategies to introduce the company to a wider audience.

Ruth commented, “I am delighted to join Puddle Ducks this is a brand that you can really be passionate about. The company is leading the way in teaching children to swim and to nurture a love of swimming for life. But it is also a franchise with a hugely successful business model and 33 territories across the UK, teaching 16,000 children to swim every week. These are particularly exciting times; Puddle Ducks is now well established and ready for further growth not only of its customer base, but also in expanding its franchise network into new areas.”

Co-founder Tracy Townend said: “We are delighted that Ruth has joined us. Since we set up the business we have achieved steady and consistent growth. We have a solid business model and a fantastic team. Ruth’s appointment is very timely for Puddle Ducks, as we lead the company into the next phase of our development. Ruth understands the nature of our business and our culture and I am confident she will be an influential part of our future growth and success.”
