My Three Cats

My Three Cats was founded in 2017 by Wendy Thomson Melling, on a simple belief: cats deserve better than a quick check-in from a neighbour when their owner is away.

Cats are routine creatures. They get stressed in catteries, they hide when strangers appear, and they notice when something isn’t right long before anyone else does. So the business made a decision early on that has shaped everything since. My Three Cats looks after cats, and only cats. No dogs, no walks, no general pet care. Just people who genuinely understand felines, caring for them in their own homes where they feel safest.

That specialism has become the brand’s biggest strength. What began at a kitchen table in Warrington is now a growing network of territories across the UK, supported by a team of trained, insured and DBS-checked cat sitters. The business is an award-winning member of the Pet Industry Federation, and its story has been featured in national and local press.

Wendy spent eighteen months preparing before opening the business up to franchising, because she only wanted to do it if it could be done with the right standards, ethics and integrity. What she didn’t expect was who would come forward. Women in their first year of business ownership. A vet nurse. A cosmetics sales manager. A mum working alongside her daughter. A former client first who loved the service so much she bought a franchise.

None of them needed business experience. They needed to love cats, and they needed someone to give them the systems, training, branding and support so they doing it alone.

That is the model. A protected territory, a structured launch, and a network of people who pick up the phone when a new owner needs support.

My Three Cats welcomes enquiries from women anywhere in the UK who are wondering whether there is a leap like this with their name on it. No prior business experience is needed, and full training and ongoing support are provided from day one. Wendy is keen to share what she has learned with other women considering franchising for the first time.
