Zoe Kirby, Chief Financial Officer at InXpress, has just qualified as a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Completing 16 exams in 26 months, Zoe worked hard alongside a full-time job and her family life to make sure that she achieved the very best results. The hard work really paid off as she came second place on a global scale in the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) case study exams, achieving a score of 129 out of 150, beating over 1,000 other students registered for the exam around the world.

“It was challenging at times and I didn’t have much relaxation time. I had to make the best use of my time, using evenings and weekends to study, even studying whilst waiting for the kids at extra-curricular activities like swimming club!” explains Zoe.

Having earned one qualification, Zoe is now embarking on the British Franchise Association’s (bfa) Qualified Franchise Professional (QFP) accreditation to help provide even more comprehensive support at InXpress Head Office. She has also become a member of Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) to help support even more business women like herself to achieve their goals.Zoe

“I often find that there is still inequality for women at a senior level in business as a much higher percentage of these positions are held by men. I feel that I have had to fight to be as equal as the only woman on the board and also as an Accountant on a board that has a strong background in Sales! We encourage women into franchising as much as we can. We believe that in our business, female franchisees have the potential to be as successful, if not more successful, than our male franchisees,” adds Zoe.

InXpress is one of the world’s largest franchisors of worldwide express parcel delivery and transportation services. They are the number one reseller of express courier services offering solutions for internal and domestic express services. Franchisees offer express, freight and mail services through world-class carriers that customers know and trust. InXpress gives those with business or management experience the chance to develop their existing skillsets to build scalable and flexible businesses with high earning potential.

Zoe knows that by continually improving her own skills and experience, she can also offer further support to the Head Office team and to the franchise network as a whole.

“I’ve been in my position for a number of years already but having worked through the qualifications, it has helped me to understand different ways of dealing with financial processes which have helped us to improve on what we were doing,” concludes Zoe.
