We’re delighted to announce that we are expanding our Regional Meetings into the Midlands. The meetings will be headed up by Fiona Boswell from Fraser Brown Solicitors who has worked in the franchise industry for a number of years supporting women who are looking for a route into franchising.

Fiona BoswellFiona is looking forward to hosting the meetings and wants women in the region to benefit from both her own knowledge and experience and that of the EWIF organisation as a whole. Fraser Brown Solicitors have been operating in the Midlands franchise sector for over 30 years and Fiona is looking to help many more businesses in the area benefit from their years of expertise.

“The Midlands is a very diverse and large region in the UK and there are already a number of existing businesses who are operating franchises in the region. There are also a number of female run businesses, both franchisees and franchisors, and they need a body to represent them. I’m also a woman based in franchising so I understand the industry and the challenges many female business owners can often face,” explains Fiona.

EWIF Regional Meetings are held across the UK, throughout the year, to give women from every walk of life the opportunity to attend and gather advice, information and network with like-minded business owners.

“The Midlands Regional meetings with provide a forum in the region for women to network and gain knowledge, share ideas and forge relationships within the industry. If they’re interested in operating a franchise it will be a forum of knowledge for them to benefit from. Franchising is a great move for women who want to run their own business because it provides flexibility and the security and support of a franchisor who has done it all before,” adds Fiona.

EWIF’s primary focus is to support women who are looking for a route into the franchise industry. Their remit is threefold; to encourage women to consider buying a franchise, to encourage business women to franchise their existing operations and to help franchisors attract more women to their networks. EWIF is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers, providing advice and guidance to anyone looking at trying to break into the franchise industry.

“Having someone like Fiona come forward and set up a new region for the EWIF Regional Meetings is great. She’s got a wealth of experience in the industry and oozes passion for the EWIF cause. I’m looking forward to the first meeting in the Midlands and seeing more and more strong business women join our ranks and benefit from each other’s advice and support,” concludes Clive Sawyer, CEO of EWIF.
