MagiKats are delighted to announce a new centre to open in Peterborough. The MagiKats Peterborough North centre will be run by experienced teacher Catherine Gourlay. Catherine already plans to open a second centre in Peterborough South in the near future, and has ambitions for a third centre in due course.
Catherine Gourlay has been teaching mathematics in secondary schools for 32 years. She has taught in many of Peterborough’s schools and academies, and she has also taught in a local independent school and college.
Catherine explains more about what attracted her to MagiKats;
“When I decided I wanted to run a tuition centre, I did a huge amount of research. I love the fact that MagiKats is a family run business. They have an expanding network of fellow franchisees and the highest quality teaching resources. The materials and methods of delivery are unique and there was certainly a gap in the market I am delighted to fill. The benefits of being a MagiKats principal are not having to start from scratch or try to reinvent the wheel. Everything has been developed, tried, and tested. There is always someone on the end of a phone or email who can give you answers or make suggestions.
Catherine has lived in the Peterborough area for over 20 years. She is married with a daughter who is taking her GCSEs so understands the process parents go through in wanting to support their children’s education.
Catherine explains her hopes for the centre and the children of Peterborough:
My aim is to offer an educational experience the children will enjoy, so that they love coming to MagiKats and have fun doing activities they have not tried before. I want to offer them a chance to develop trusting relationships with their mentors and feel like they really matter. I want to get the best out of them!”
